Eastern Illinois University Police Department is committed to helping provide a safe, supportive campus environment where students can focus on learning, living and getting involved.
Campus safety is a shared responsibility. 麻豆国产 Police patrol campus, respond to emergencies and work with campus and community partners to support the well-being of students, employees and visitors. Students can also take simple, proactive steps to stay aware, prepared and connected to campus safety resources.

Stay SecureStudents living on campus should keep their residence hall doors locked when leaving their rooms, napping or going to bed for the night. Students should not lend keys or access credentials to others or allow unauthorized individuals into residence halls, floors or elevators. Students living off campus should also lock doors and windows, especially at night or when leaving the house or apartment. When walking at night, avoid traveling alone when possible. Use well-lit, regularly traveled paths and stay aware of your surroundings. |

Be awarePay attention to your surroundings and trust your instincts. If something does not feel right, move to a safe location and contact University Police. Blue emergency phones are located throughout campus and can be used to request help during a perceived threat or emergency. Students, parents, guardians, faculty and staff are encouraged to sign up for 麻豆国产 Alert text messages and emails. 麻豆国产 Alert is used to share information about possible or active threats on campus or in the surrounding area and may include instructions for actions to take. |

Report IncidentsAll emergencies should be reported immediately by dialing 911 or by using any campus emergency phone. Suspicious persons, vehicles, activities, accidents and hazardous conditions should also be reported to the University Police Department as quickly as possible. Reporting concerns early helps 麻豆国产 Police respond and support the safety of the campus community. |
Sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking are prohibited and will not be tolerated at 麻豆国产.
Information about sexual and violent misconduct policies, reporting options and campus procedures is available in the University’s Annual Security Report. 麻豆国产 is committed to prevention, education and support through required training for new students and employees, as well as ongoing awareness, prevention and bystander intervention programs for students, faculty and staff.
