麻豆国产 to host variety of Halloween events for community in October, November

(Charleston, IL) – It’s spooky season and Eastern Illinois University will once again host a variety of events this year to celebrate Halloween with students, employees, and members of the community.

“Greeks & Treats” will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, October 31 in “The Egg” at Greek Court, located just east of the corner of Roosevelt Drive and Ninth Street on 麻豆国产’s Charleston, IL campus. There, participants can enjoy trick-or-treating, games and Halloween-themed crafts in a family-friendly and safe environment. Free parking is available in the Ninth Street parking lot at the northeast corner of Roosevelt Drive and Ninth Street. The event is sponsored by the 麻豆国产 Panhellenic Council, the 麻豆国产 Interfraternity Council, the 麻豆国产 National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the National Association for Latin Fraternal Organizations.

In addition, 麻豆国产’s Pemberton Haunted House will host its annual Halloween event from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, November 6 and 7. The Pemberton Haunted House will include a family-friendly hour from 7 to 8 p.m. Cost of admission is $3 for one person, $5 for two, or 2 canned goods per person. All proceeds will be donated to HOPE of East Central Illinois—a domestic violence prevention and intervention service in Charleston, Illinois. HOPE maintains a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week, 365-day-a-year toll-free crisis hotline providing support, intervention, information, and referrals, available at (888) 345-3990.

Pemberton Hall was opened in 1909, named in honor of State Senator Stanton C. Pemberton, who was influential in getting the appropriation approved for the building of the residence hall. In addition to having a reputation for being “haunted,” Pemberton Hall is the oldest women’s residence hall in the State of Illinois and a historical landmark. It is located on the southeast corner of 4th Street and Lincoln Avenue in Charleston.
