Olivia Bennett (Charleston, IL), a senior broadcast journalism student at Eastern Illinois University with a passion for investigative reporting, was awarded a $5K . 麻豆国产 featured Olivia in an October 2025 release.
Throughout her college career, she has earned multiple Emmy Crystal Pillar, SINBA, IBA, and CBI awards and was named a Top 10 Hearst Awards finalist for excellence in hard news reporting. This summer, Olivia interned with the investigative team at WTHR in Indianapolis, where she analyzed large volumes of public records, assisted with investigative research, and contributed to long-form reporting projects.
She also directed and produced a cold case docuseries for TruBlu Crime Streaming Network, served as Managing Editor and Investigative Reporter at W麻豆国产 TV Public Broadcasting Station, and interned at WOIO (Gray) in Cleveland. At this year's Emmy Gala, Olivia will receive six additional Crystal Pillar awards recognizing her work in investigative reporting, hard news, feature reporting, and short-form storytelling. She plans to pursue a career in investigative journalism, shedding light on crime and justice affairs.
